Woodmont Academy is a K-5 elementary school located in the City of Southfield, Michigan. More than 300 students are enrolled from across the metropolitan Detroit area and surrounding cities. Effective July 1, 2008, Woodmont Academy became one of the schools managed by Visions Education Development Consortium LLC. The Academy is authorized by Bay Mills Community College.
Mission Statement
Woodmont Academy in partnership with parents and the community, will provide a safe and nurturing environment where every student will become proficient in literacy and problem solving skills. We will inspire students to become responsible citizens who will succeed in an ever-changing society.
Facility
The Academy is located in the former St. Michael's Catholic school building whose campus is located on Ten Mile Road three blocks west of Lahser. The campus is well groomed and perfectly manicured on several acres of land. There is a soccer field, baseball diamond, playscape for children and a recently designed nature trail. The building has been magnificently painted with bright colors conducive for learning and new carpeting has been installed over the summer of 2008. There are twelve classrooms, a full gymnasium and a media lab. Demand also dictated the need for additional classrooms made available in adjacent modulars.
